While we're wood guys at the core, we've always jumped at the opportunity to do some R&D development with bio-resins, natural fibers, and the use of recycled plastics in our boards. We're constantly reminded of the need to find a genuine use for plastic waste and do what we can to contribute to a circular economy.
With a few years of prototyping behind us, working with numerous forms of recycled plastics and finding the most efficient ways to mill, cut and shape, build, surf, cut apart and build again, we're excited to announce the launch of our NEW GreenRail Construction method.
The GreenRail marries the all the benefits of our hollow wooden board constuction with a perimter rail made from 100% recycled plastic. On top of that, we remain commited to our "Waste No Waste" initiatives and are working diligently with our local waste management company as well as with the material manufacturer to find the best way to recycle or re-use our own offcuts.
Most of our shapes are available in this cool new construction and - besides all the sustainable goodness of the GreenRail boards - we're also able to offer them at a price on par with boards made by some of the best shapers in the industry which means you can get the same rugged, life-time Grain quality at a price dramatically less than the cost of our original all-wood construction. As always, each board is built, shaped and glassed by hand in our shop.
One other new bonus we think you'll like is that we'll be keeping an inventory of GreenRail boards in stock for immediate sale, so you can find those we have ready-to-ship in our online store right now. If you don't see what you want, don't fret: just like our original all-wood boards, you can order a custom GreenRail through the page of the board you're looking for and we'll get right on it. We'll contact you to discuss details as always.
