The Pepita- A Wegener/Grain Collab Model

This paipo is a collaboration between Jon Wegener and Grain surfboards and is hand-built and shaped in York Maine with a core of 100% recycled plastic bottles, combined with wood stringers. The bottom of the board is made from cedar and/or paulownia planks while the rails and deck is all natural cork from the Cork Oak Tree. These boards are the perfect blend of simplicity, functionality and sustainability and we believe represent one of the most fun ways to get out and enjoy some waves.

Jon Wegener has long made the Pumpkin Seed, which is a close cousin to the Pepita. It’s best served with a steeper hollow wave where the outline allows for late drops with precision pivot turns into the pocket. This model allows maximum water flow off the tail holding you high and tight in the face of the wave.
